Special Services and Feature
The Hemophilia Center in Taipei Medical University Hospital was established in August, 2007. Since then, the center has been providing patients with coagulopathy (a.k.a. bleeding disorder) diagnosis and treatment, including Hemophilia and von Willebrand disease (vWD). With the outstanding and comprehensive care, the multidisciplinary medical team has developed a patient-centered care which consists of specialists from hematology, orthopedics, rehabilitation, physical therapy, and dentistry to deliver a hospice care for our patients. Plus, the Center is also highly accessible, convenient, and comfortable for international patients to reach. Our goal is to develop a comprehensive platform that integrates diagnosis, assessment, treatment, and medical resources, and to coordinate multidisciplinary resources for a hospice medical care and education.
The center also focuses on health education, home therapy, and prophylaxis therapy for our patients in order to improve the quality of patient’s health condition, management, and life.
The medical services we provide are as follows:
- Coagulopathy (a.k.a. bleeding disorder) diagnosis, treatment, illness consultation, and genetic counseling
- Injection therapy (for both preventive and attacking purposes), home therapy, and injection training.
- Overall health checkup for Hemophilia, including blood and urine test, abdominal ultrasound, joint X-ray, and MRI, etc.
- The up-to-date hemophilia Joint health scoring system
- Treatment for hemophilic arthropathy: arthroscopy synovial bursa surgery, hyaluronic acid injection for joints (regulated by NHI), joint replacement, etc.
- Genetic testing, genetic counseling, and preimplantation genetic diagnosis(a.k.a. PGD, gynecology department) for hemophilia and von Willebrand disease (vWD).
- Hepatitis C antiviral treatment, HIV antiviral treatment (Infectious disease department).
