ROSA® Robotic Surgery System

ROSA spine robot arm is a robot arm intraoperative navigation system developed by a French company. Its main function is to accurately point out the position required by the surgeon during spine surgery, especially in places where the naked eye cannot directly see it. Precise guidance to the surgical site, together with various kinds of fixators at the front of the arm, helps the surgeon complete the spine surgery accurately and safely. However, the traditional navigation system cannot overcome the situation that the patient undergoing spinal surgery will move due to breathing. The ROSA spine robot arm has an instant feedback system that can detect the patient's body position changes caused by breathing. The robot arm will be adjusted at any time to achieve True precision and safety.

Who can use ROSA spine robot arm?
It can be used by patients who have been evaluated by the physician and require the insertion of lumbar vertebral nails. The ROSA spine robotic arm is currently used for the placement of bone screws in lumbar spine surgery. The surgeon will provide real-time images from the intraoperative O-arm and use ROSA spine to calculate the most appropriate position of the bone screw. The position of the nail allows the surgeon to accurately place the bone nail.

How accurate is the ROSA spine robot arm?
The error value of the ROSA spine robot arm is generally below 0.2mm (0.02cm), which is very accurate, and if the error value is slightly higher, the ROSA spine robot arm will automatically pause and require re-calibration.
What are the benefits of using ROSA spine robot arm?
High accuracy and high safety, especially for patients with severe lumbar degeneration or scoliosis, can greatly improve safety.

Can the cervical spine use the ROSA spine robot arm?
Currently mainly used in lumbar spine surgery.
