Taipei Medical University (TMU) was established in 1960. Over the past half-century, TMU has expanded into a world-class university with eleven colleges and six affiliated hospitals. The vision for managing the university is to develop a unified educational system that encompasses teaching, research, industry-academic, and medical care. It also seeks to strengthen the strategic partnership with domestic and international institutions, enhance its translational research, and cultivate interdisciplinary leadership talents.
TMU is a research-based university that is based on fundamental medical education and applies to the innovation of biomedical science. We seek to strengthen the field on developing more than 20 specific and medical-focus research areas, such as brain trauma, nerve regenerative, cancer translation, reproductive medicine, and biomedical material science. Meanwhile, we manage more than 10 projects and collaborate with the National Health and Research Institute, Academia Sinica of Taiwan, and also with the National Institute of Health of the United States (U.S.A).
TMU continuously supports basic research to transform it into clinical application, hence elevating the capacity of the collaboration between industry and school, therefore highlighting the capability of TMU’s research and future development.
“Putting the patient first” is our motto, because your satisfaction is our highest achievement.
